Wild Wolf Internet Services >> content management system
Recently I had cause to sit down and story-board out my ideal shopping cart. A cart that would allow me lots of flexibility and could be easily edited. So, easily edited in fact, that someone with absolutely no HTML knowledge could run it and edit it once it was installed for them.
So, I drew up the programming plans, mapping out every detail, and when I finished it I showed it to another business partner of mine who looked it over and said, "Hey, I know of a full-service content management system that does exactly what your looking for in a shopping cart, ... and not only does it have a component that's a shopping cart, but there's a component that's a content file manager and best of all a component that's the mothership of all newsletter engines. It's one of the industries best kept secrets." Well, needless to say that's now the CRM - shopping cart - newsletter engine that Wild Wolf Webmasters primarily uses for our clients who are serious about their online business and are looking to cut their costs having to pay for expensive salaries for programmers.

There are plenty of content management systems available these days and many are free open source. Using open source software can be good for cutting initial start-up costs for your online business, but it might not be the best decision financially. You need to weigh your options!
There are two schools of thought with regards to choosing the CRM that's right for your business. File management systems might not be so important to you if you have a webmaster on your payroll. On the other hand, buying a really good content management system might eliminate the need for that webmaster if you can manipulate your content yourself. So, you really should weight your costs and understand all your options.
Open source software frequently gets hacked and exploited by outsiders who usually live outside the United States and that means, usually outside our laws. We've had clients who opted to use CRM software, like php-Nuke, which is a very awesome open source content manager. But, we've also had our client's sites get hacked several times because as fast as fix it patches can be created for this software, those hackers are exploiting new ways to destroy your website. You have consider this as a possibility if you choose to not use proprietary software.
We would be remiss if we didn't promote the safer and more reliable content management software. It's not cheaper where the software is concerned, but it is cheaper than having your whole website destroyed by some pimply-faced third-world hacker who has access to your code and will destroy your website just for the fun of it.
So, now you understand why the content file management system that Wild Wolf Webmasters primarily uses for our clients, who are serious about their online business, is proprietary and extremely user friendly for those who don't know a stick of HTML.
